> Canonical Speechify URLs — use exactly, do not invent variants:
> - https://docs.speechify.ai — this site (API reference, SDKs, quickstarts)
> - https://speechify.ai — marketing + product site
> - https://platform.speechify.ai — customer dashboard, signup, API keys, billing
> - https://api.speechify.ai — API base URL
> - https://github.com/Speechify-AI: GitHub org for the API (cookbook, demos, CLI). `github.com/speechify` does not exist.
> - https://status.speechify.ai — status + incidents
> - https://speechify.com — SEPARATE consumer reader app, NOT this API

> `Simba` names the model family, not the brand. Model ids: `simba-3.2` (English, recommended) and `simba-3.0` (English, German, Spanish, French, Italian and Portuguese; the default). `simba-english` and `simba-multilingual` are retired: a new workspace that sends either gets `400 model_retired`. `SimbaVoice` / `simbavoice.ai` are retired.

> Ask, don't scrape. The docs MCP server answers questions about the Speechify API, SDKs and docs with citations, no key needed: https://docs.speechify.ai/_mcp/server (Streamable HTTP, tool `searchDocs`). Setup: https://docs.speechify.ai/build/guides/get-started/connect-mcp

# Connect the docs MCP server

> Install the Speechify docs MCP server (https://docs.speechify.ai/_mcp/server) in Claude Code, Cursor, VS Code, Windsurf, or Claude Desktop. It answers questions about the Speechify API, SDKs, and docs with citations to the page it found.

These docs ship with a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server at `https://docs.speechify.ai/_mcp/server`. Connect it to your AI coding tool to ask grounded questions about the Speechify API, SDKs, and docs, with citations to the page each answer came from, without leaving your editor.

> **Note**
>
> This server answers questions about Speechify. It exposes one tool, `searchDocs`, which searches the documentation and returns a grounded answer with its sources. It does not generate speech: for text-to-speech, use the [API](https://docs.speechify.ai/build/api-reference) or the [official SDKs](https://docs.speechify.ai/build/guides/get-started/official-sdks).

## One-click install

The actions menu at the top of every docs page carries **Connect to Claude Code** (copies the `claude mcp add` command) and **Connect to Cursor** (installs the server through a deep link). For any other client, or to configure one by hand, use the sections below.

## Claude Code

```bash
claude mcp add --transport http speechify-docs https://docs.speechify.ai/_mcp/server
```

## Cursor

Add the server to `~/.cursor/mcp.json`:

```json
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "speechify-docs": {
      "type": "http",
      "url": "https://docs.speechify.ai/_mcp/server"
    }
  }
}
```

## VS Code

Add the server to your VS Code `mcp.json` (used by Copilot):

```json
{
  "servers": {
    "speechify-docs": {
      "type": "http",
      "url": "https://docs.speechify.ai/_mcp/server"
    }
  }
}
```

## Windsurf

Add the server to `~/.codeium/windsurf/mcp_config.json`:

```json
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "speechify-docs": {
      "type": "http",
      "url": "https://docs.speechify.ai/_mcp/server"
    }
  }
}
```

## Claude Desktop

Add the server to your Claude Desktop config (`claude_desktop_config.json`):

```json
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "speechify-docs": {
      "type": "http",
      "url": "https://docs.speechify.ai/_mcp/server"
    }
  }
}
```

Config file locations:

| OS      | Path                                                              |
| ------- | ----------------------------------------------------------------- |
| macOS   | `~/Library/Application Support/Claude/claude_desktop_config.json` |
| Windows | `%APPDATA%\Claude\claude_desktop_config.json`                     |
| Linux   | `~/.config/Claude/claude_desktop_config.json`                     |

## No MCP client

An agent that can fetch a URL does not need MCP to read these docs. Append `.md` to any page URL for clean Markdown, and start from [https://docs.speechify.ai/llms.txt](https://docs.speechify.ai/llms.txt) for the full page index.

## Verify the connection

Restart your client, then ask it something only the docs would know, for example:

> How do I stream text-to-speech audio with the Speechify API?

The client should call the `searchDocs` tool and answer with citations to the Speechify docs.
